BEST WINERY TOUR - Quintessa, Saint Helena: Taking the #8 spot for best winery tour is Quintessa, the ultra-luxury Bordeaux wine producer. All of their tastings ($75) are private and intimate, starting with a walk to a scenic overlook on their Rutherford AVA property, followed by a visit to the working winery and caves. The tour wraps up with a tasting of their current and library wines, including an estate blend of cabernet sauvignon, merlot, cabernet franc, petit verdot, and carmenere. Appointment only.

The winery, constructed in 1886, is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. They make only 200 cases of wine, varying from cabernet sauvignon, chardonnay, syrah and muscat. Voters like the emphasis on organic and sustainable produce and agriculture, paired with farm-to-table comfort food including heritage pork chops, brick-cooked chicken, and grass fed steak tartare.
