June 3: Tide Pool Talk at Doran Beach, Bodega Bay
Tide pools are magical little microcosms of ocean life, filled with sea urchins, starfish, crabs, mussels and more - and Doran Beach has a lot of tide pools! June 3 & 10: Redwood Hill Farm Tours, Sebastopol
Goats, chickens, cows, oh my! Redwood Hill Farm, known for their goat cheese, yogurt and kefir, opens the farm to tours allowing kids the opportunity to learn about eco-friendly farming practices, explore olive and fruit orchards, and most importantly: cuddle baby goats, pet chickens, and learn how to milk a cow. June 4: Star Party at Robert Ferguson Observatory, Kenwood
Explore the stars from the top of Sugarloaf Mountain through three telescopes at the Robert Ferguson Observatory. Star Parties are the only time that the scientific observatory is open to the public, and it's a fun and magical way to get close to the planets and stars. June 10-11: Sonoma County Hot Air Balloon Classic, Windsor
Rustle the kids out of bed for an awe inspiring early morning experience when over 20 hot air balloons glow at dawn, awaiting their launch into the sunny morning sky at 6:30 AM. Balloon rides will be offered and there will be plenty of food, crafts and kid-friendly activities throughout the weekend. Proceeds benefit six local nonprofits. Kids $10, adults $20. schabc.org
June 21-25: Sonoma-Marin Fair, Petaluma
The fair is back in Petaluma! The activities for kids are endless: Pet farm animals during the Junior Livestock Shows, where children and teens display their agriculture talents; meet the World's Ugliest Dog; indulge in fried food and cotton candy; watch pig races; and the best is for last: endless carnival rides with fair admission! June 24-25: Toyota/Save Mart 350, Sonoma
Gearheads and movie-loving kids can get up close with not only famous NASCAR drivers and their cars, but also #95 Lightning McQueen of Pixar's "Cars" series. Life size versions of the movie's three animated stars will roll into Sonoma Raceway to celebrate the release of "Cars 3." July 4: 4th of July Healdsburg Kids' Parade and Duck Dash, Healdsburg
Hundreds of children parade through the street in their finest red, white and blue to celebrate 4th of July in Healdsburg - and your children can join in, too! After the parade, enjoy live music, games, face painting, and the famous duck races, where rubber duckies race through waterways with proceeds benefiting local youth programs. July 8: Cotati Kids Day, Cotati
Cotati knows how to party, and their 27th Cotati Kids Day is bound to be no exception. Start the morning off with a free pancake breakfast, followed by a colorful parade showcasing the culture of Cotati. After the parade, a festival is held at La Plaza Park with a rock wall, pie eating contest, a Diaper Derby race for babies, food, and more. Free. cotatikidsday.org
July 14-15 - Broadway Under the Stars' Fantastical Family Night, Glen Ellen
Does your child know all the words to the songs in "The Lion King?" If so, then Fantastical Family Night at Jack London State Historic park is a must for your wannabe Broadway baby. Start the evening with a picnic in the park, followed by a performance of kid-friendly musical numbers from Disney musicals and more, all performed by professional Broadway actors, singers and dancers. July 22: Free Movies on the Green, Rohnert Park

July 28: The Bubble Lady, Windsor

July 29: Fort Ross Festival, Jenner
Fort Ross State Historic Park's annual festival offers family-friendly fun that combines history, nature and food (and craft beer for the grown-ups!) all while overlooking the Pacific Ocean. Kids can experience what it's like to live on a 19th century trading post with crafts, costumed re-enactors, cannon firings, baby animals, and Native American dancing. $20 per car. fortross.org
