Sonoma is a dog-loving county. From park trails to dog parks — even restaurant patios and tasting rooms — many local businesses welcome (well-behaved) pooches. A dog mom and craft beer lover, Jess Poshepny Vallery has scouted out local spots to enjoy a cold one with your best furry friend at your feet. Click through the gallery above for the details.
5 Dog-Friendly Breweries in Sonoma County
Here's where to enjoy a good beer, with your best furry friend at your feet.
Fogbelt Brewing Company, Santa Rosa: Fogbelt may not be the biggest brewery in town but there’s space for you and your dog on the street side patio. The brewery's taps are constantly rotating and there's a seasonal food menu with "chef’s specials." They make their own dog treats out of the spent grain from the brewery — they got a two paws up from my pup! 1305 Cleveland Ave, Santa Rosa, 707-978-3400, fogbeltbrewing.com
Woodfour Brewing Company, Sebastopol: Woodfour joined the Sonoma County beer scene in 2013 with a variety of farmhouse style beers and a seasonal menu. This is a great little spot to sit outside and enjoy people- and dog-watching. Try the Sour Farmhouse Ale, Gold Ridge Lager and their flagship beer, the Saison. 6780 Depot St, Sebastopol, 707-823-3144, woodfour.com
Crooked Goat Brewery, Sebastopol: Rolling doors on three sides of the brewery give the impression of being outdoors while seated inside. Taste a variety of beers, ranging from brews infused with chili pepper, blood orange, and tangerine to hoppy IPA’s and Taylor Maid Coffee Stout. Pizzas and BBQ bites can be ordered from the bar, as well as meals from one of the nearby restaurants. 120 Morris St #120, Sebastopol, 707-835-4256, crookedgoatbrewing.com
Lagunitas Brewing Company, Petaluma: There’s a lot of fun on tap at Lagunitas for humans and dogs alike. Pair the Daytime, Little Sumpin, Hop Stoopid, Lagunitas Sucks or Down Low with popular items from the kitchen like nachos, pulled pork sandwich, and the sampler of Yanni’s sausages. 1280 N McDowell Blvd, Petaluma, 707-769-4455, lagunitas.com
Bear Republic, Rohnert Park: Casual beer drinking from the popular brewer by Robert’s Lake. A nearby dog park helps your dog burn off a little energy before heading to the patio for a burger. 5000 Roberts Lake Rd, Rohnert Park, 707-585-2722, bearrepublic.com. (John Burgess / The Press Democrat)
