Wine Country Classic, Intermediate: Take in expansive Dry Creek and Alexander Valley views while zipping around on some incredibly fun and newly paved roads. This is a classic wine country tour, and although it is a longer ride in terms of distance, there isn’t much in the way of hard climbing or overly technical descents. This ride will take you into Occidental, down the wooded Bohemian Highway, out to the ocean, and up the famed Coleman Valley Road. A more technical ride, but well worth the effort! Trinity Road, Saint Helena, and Spring Mountain, Advanced: This route, starting from Santa Rosa, will take you south on Sonoma Highway and Warm Springs Road, past iconic wine country vistas like the Ledson Winery (pictured) and then east toward Saint Helena via Trinity Road, one of the top spots for challenging climbs in Sonoma. After Saint Helena, you will ride back to Santa Rosa via Spring Mountain. The main climbs are steep and fairly lengthy, so be ready to break a sweat. The Ultimate Sonoma County Ride, Advanced: Levi's Gran Fondo, the Amgen Tour of California, Coors Classic, and countless more bike races have treated their riders to this stunning cruise on the Sonoma Coast. Start in Occidental, where there is ample parking and excellent breakfast at Howard’s Cafe. What follows is a plunge down to Monte Rio, and onto Cazadero Highway to the infamous King Ridge Road. After a hearty climb, be prepared for a gorgeous roller coaster ride on Seaview Road, followed by a steep and technical descent to Highway 1. Meander down the coast, then head back to Occidental via Willow Creek Road, which isn’t paved but can be done on any road bike. Don’t miss out on this ride!
