Hinterland Empire’s brick and mortar shop offers their own line of “adventure apparel for feral humans.” Their wheelhouse is edgy-wise-hilarious silkscreens on casual wear, plus vintage denim and other resale finds on which they print their designs—an eco-friendly and exciting merging of old and new. And there’s more, like illustrated prints, decals and Hinterland coffee. As a bonus, Hinterland shares space with Neon Raspberry Art House, which recently hosted a powerful installation called “Keeping House” by Veronica Ceci. The Altamont General Store is off to an exciting start and has a vision to become an “eat, shop and gather" spot. The historic building has been beautifully redecorated, and the cafe offers delicious foods from baked goods to pork bowls to “magic” mushrooms. Coffee, beer and fermented shrub drinks are available, too. The store sells well curated housewares and it will soon be hosting pop-up art and floral shops in its expansive space. A ceramic studio occupies the back room and there’s plenty of seating available for gathering (when it’s safe to do so).
