butcherPop-up restaurateur Berry Salinas will open a brick and mortar fried chicken and barbecue shack at the former Greyhound bus stop on Santa Rosa Avenue (near Dierk’s Parkside and Las Palmas and the growing SOFA arts district).

“The location was just a golden opportunity,” said Salinas. The “Butcher” of Butcher and Cook, she’s looking toward a May opening featuring local farm produce, take-out fried chicken dinners, barbecue, and house-cured meats made on site.

  1. This is one of the most amazing food stories going. I love this! No one but Berry could have opened up shop here and I’m sure She’s going to do well here in so many ways. STOKED!

    1. yup. Berry is a kick ass lady, someone who’s worked their way up through the food community and one of the strongest advocates of local meat production I know. I’m proud to know her.

  2. Good Luck!

That little former coffee shop will need a lot of work to turn it into a charcuterie that can cook fried chicken and BBQ while still having room for a farm fresh market.

And right across the driveway is the Accu Tune and Brake smog check and smog repair auto garage.
