July 12-14: Bastille Day Community Dinner, La Bodega, Sebastopol: Sebastopol wineshop and restaurant La Bodega is set to host a three day feast of French proportions. Chef Rick Vargas, who earned his culinary chops in Paris, will prepare a multi-course meal featuring classics like Vichyssoise, Coq au Vin, Boeuf Bourguignon, Rôte de Porc avec Sauce Moutarde à la Normande (brined and roasted pork with a mustard sauce), Pommes Purée, Chocolate Mousse and Apple Tart. July 14: Bastille Day Fête at Chateau St. Jean, Kenwood: A wine haven for Francophiles, Chateau St. Jean will host their annual Bastille Day celebration on their expansive lawn. They'll serve their wines paired with seasonal cuisine from local food trucks. July 14: Bastille Day at Frenchie, Sonoma: Staying true to their name, newly opened picnics and provisions shop Frenchie will a Bastille Day celebration worth attending. The afternoon will feature French-family fun with takeout items like Quiche Lorraine, Frenchie House Salads, Model Bakery Croissant Sandwiches, and fresh baked Madeleine cookies. July 14: Bastille Day Picnic at Stone Edge Farm, Sonoma: Make your way to the mountains above Sonoma Valley to celebrate Bastille Day with an afternoon at Stone Edge Farm, a winery specializing in Bordeaux-style varietals. The winery's Culinary Director, John McReynolds, will use seasonal organic ingredients from local farms and his onsite garden to create a traditional French gastronomic experience, with a few modern twists. July 14: Bastille Day Dinner at Jordan Winery, Healdsburg: Jordan Winery will host an epicurean evening of "all things French" at their French-style chateau. The evening will begin with a champagne reception (Jordan produces champagne in partnership with AR Lenoble) followed by an al fresco, French-inspired four-course dinner using seasonal ingredients and produce from the estate garden. July 14: Bastille Day Luncheon at Michel~Schlumberger, Healdsburg: Michel~Schlumberger, a winery that specializes in French-inspired wines, will celebrate Bastille Day with lawn games and sparkling. July 14: Bastille Day at Occidental Center for the Arts, Occidental: Francophiles can flock to the Occidental Center for the Arts for an evening of French music. The Center will transport you to early 20th-century Paris with cabaret seating, wine, art, and dancing. The evening features two acts: Un Deux Trois, a three piece (accordion included!) performing traditional French music, and La Guinguette, a trio that performs French café music a la Edith Piaf and Jacques Brel. July 15: Bastille Day Bash, Santa Rosa: This year's largest Bastille Day event takes place at Juilliard Park in Santa Rosa. Sponsored by the Alliance Française de Santa Rosa and the Santa Rosa French American Charter School, the Bastille Day Bash is a celebration of all things French for all ages. Music will be provided by local favorite Oddjob Ensemble, and attendees can expect accordion sing-alongs in French, treasure hunt, picnic ‘à la bonne franquette,’ village-style pétanque, wine, and more.
