Amy’s Kitchen Founders List Stinson Beach Home for $16 Million

Nestled along Stinson Beach, the home of Amy’s Kitchen founders Andy and Rachel Berliner is inspired by traditional Balinese architecture.

Amy’s Kitchen founders Andy and Rachel Berliner have listed their Balinese-inspired Stinson Beach home for sale. The five-bedroom, three-bathroom dwelling sits on beachfront property in the small, laid-back Marin County town at the foot of Mount Tamalpais. The asking price is $16 million.

Built in 1983, the home was renovated incorporating elements of Javanese architecture.

The bedrooms are constructed as individual “joglos” connected by a corridor. The joglos’ repeat of roofs are steeply-pitched, emulating the mountain-like shape of the authentic Javanese homes that populate Bali. Interior ceilings are lined in textured grass-cloth. Wood-cladding and grids of moulding frame fabric-covered walls.

Each room opens up to the gardens. The main bedroom connects to a deck and the beach.

The great room’s windows and a glass roof in the kitchen offer natural vistas: Mount Tamalpais on one side and the beach on the other.

The Berliners cherish the home’s vibrant tropical garden, the color of the pool and surrounding tiles, and the way air flows through the home when the large sliders are open. Densely planted gardens and the position of the home offer privacy from beachgoers.
