With the dog days of summer slobbering at our toes, it seems fitting to give a shout-out redux to my favorite spot to beat the heat: Yogurt Farms.
Around since the early 1980’s, this
Mendocino Avenue soft-serve emporium is cute as a cupcake inside, with
a resident plastic cow and more flavors than you can shake a spoon at.
Purists laud the tart, yogurty quality of this local frozen treat
purveyor. They also have ice cream and Hawaiian shave ice with flavors flown in from the islands. Not to mention the nicest yogurt slingers in town (despite the fact that this old-school fro-yo spot is un-airconditioned.)
Take your cup to go. Or just sit on the curb like the rest of us. Yogurt Farms: 1224 Mendocino
Ave., Santa Rosa, (707) 576-0737

My friends and I all call this place Jesus Yogurt, I was asked by a coworker just the other day what the real name was and I was not sure either (like most of the frequenters that have commented). It is good and used to be my favorite, but sorry to say that Honeymoon in Seabastopol is by far the best froyo!
I am another SRHS alum and Yogurt Farms (didn’t even know the name) is my benchmark 16 years later. Berry berry tart is my favorite. Recently I discovered tiny Honeymoon Yogurt in Sebastopol (by the library) which has local/organic Strauss frozen yogurt sweetened with agave – my toddler and I love it. They just have 4 flavors, the plain Strauss and 3 typical mixes.

I like the quality and affordable prices at Yogurt Time. They have self serve soft serve in at least two locales – Healdsburg and Santa Rosa. Cheap and good!
As a Santa Rosa High alum, I can attest that Yogurt Farms is a Santa Rosa institution! I have even taken out-of-town friends there for cold treats because it is so delicious. It’s pretty much the only frozen yogurt I will buy (besides Snow Bunny when I’m in Healdsburg).
LOL I’ve been calling it “Christian Yogurt” for years too! That is so funny. Never even knew the real name.
Iused to live down the street. Their yogurt is the best.
YF (“Christian Yogurt”) has the best yogurt I’ve ever tasted. Try the yogurt pie! SO GOOD!!
What heat??? Share some of your heat with my tomatoes, please! I am sure this stuff works in any weather.
