Pizza chain Pieology, with more than 50 locations primarily in the Western U.S., is putting down stakes in Santa Rosa. The long-vacated Blockbuster store in the Mendocino Marketplace (2280 Mendocino Ave.) is slated to open later this month. The custom pie shop features DIY “artisan style” 11.5-inch pizzas, each under $10.

Mix and match traditional or gourmet toppings (herb butter sauce, meatballs, gorgonzola cheese, roasted red peppers) and get it cooked to order in their stone oven. Ready in about five minutes, its fast food with a personal twist.
I tried Pieology and quite liked it. I was surprised by the super thin crust. So thin it’s almost cracker like. One pizza could feed two, if you also have salad. Otherwise it’s a single meal on its own. I would go again. It’s tasty and the price is right.
Had there pizza, no flavor. “Chipotle Pizza”, you get what you pay for. Eat at a local place from people who really have a stake in give you good food
I LOVE the food at Pieology. I’ve eaten at a few in Southern California and each time my meal was scrumptious. I love that you can build your own pie with one’s own personal taste for only $10. The ingredients are so fresh too. You don’t feel like you’ve eaten a heavy meal (especially if you save a few pieces for lunch the next day) yet you are satisfied. I would highly recommend this restaurant to everyone.
I’m a Mombo’s die hard and always will be, I try my best to not eat at chains as life is to short to eat uninteresting food. However, I’ve heard good things about the Pieology in Berkeley from a couple of reliable food friends that say they make a good pie that can feed 2 people with unlimited toppings and coming in at around 8 bucks… But the truth will come out soon enough and I hope Mombo’s hangs in there as they have a great staff, make a mean pie, they have good ranch and a killer pesto. I feel like Pieology may be the “Subway” of the pizza industry. HAIL MOMBOS!!!
