There’s hope that Sonoma County nightlife may just be evolving.
In the last month, both The Jade Room (643 4th St, Santa Rosa) and Fern Bar (6780 Depot St Suite 120, Sebastopol) have opened, and both are dripping with retro loungey awesomeness.
The Jade Room is inspired by old school Palm Beach decor with cozy velvet banquettes, raw oysters, champagne and lots of Instagrammable hot spots (don’t miss the bathroom wallpaper).
Fern Bar is a cavernous space made cozy by separating the spaces into nooks and crannies that are fascinating to explore. A nod to 1970s bars that were more “grandma’s living-room furniture” and less dimly-lit saloons. Stylish decor, excellent libations, and evolving menus promise to make these spaces more than nightclubs.
Instead, they’re clubby hangouts that evoke a sense of nostalgia for a simpler, way classier time.
