There’s hope that Sonoma County nightlife may just be evolving.
In the last month, both The Jade Room (643 4th St, Santa Rosa) and Fern Bar (6780 Depot St Suite 120, Sebastopol) have opened, and both are dripping with retro loungey awesomeness.
The Jade Room is inspired by old school Palm Beach decor with cozy velvet banquettes, raw oysters, champagne and lots of Instagrammable hot spots (don’t miss the bathroom wallpaper).
Fern Bar is a cavernous space made cozy by separating the spaces into nooks and crannies that are fascinating to explore. A nod to 1970s bars that were more “grandma’s living-room furniture” and less dimly-lit saloons. Stylish decor, excellent libations, and evolving menus promise to make these spaces more than nightclubs.
Instead, they’re clubby hangouts that evoke a sense of nostalgia for a simpler, way classier time.

Jade, Pink Velvet, and all the Palm Leaves 😍 #doenjoydarling 🌴 💕 🍾 #Repost from @ollyverthebro. Finally! A wine bar close to my house! I’ve been waiting for this day forever! The Jade Room is a new Wine/ Oysterette that opened in Downtown Santa Rosa this past week and it’s such a rad spot! I will be coming back all the time since I live so close. They have such good small bites and such a great wine list – finally got to try the @tinyhousevineyard rose I’ve been wanting to try forever! (Spoiler alert: its my new favorite rose and I’m totally gonna buy a few bottles) If you’re looking for a cute place to go get some wine and small bites – go to the @thejaderoomsr Also their couches and velvet chairs are super comfy and I can live in those #thewinterproject2019
