  1. Thanks for letting me know where not to go. Leave your animals at home. Never ever considered bringing my dogs to a restaurant. Most people don’t want your dogs as part of their meal experience. Leave them at home.

  2. The Block in Petaluma always welcomes friendly dogs. They also offer water in clean dog bowls, just ask at the bar. The nice thing about dogs at the block is that it’s mostly outdoors so non dog people can enjoy their meals without having others peoples pets in their way. It’s not like the dogs are running around and barking. In my experience, the dogs just lie under the table at their owners feet. I have never appreciated dogs in the grocery store or an inside restaurant but I have never been bothered by the dogs that come to The Block. The employees do a good job making sure that people follow the rules with a leash and keeping aggressive dogs out. Go and check it out. You will be surprised at the comfortable environment for both dog and non dog people.

  3. I don’t mind seeing dogs in places like restaurants and grocery stores. I have zero issue with it. In Paris and London we saw dogs in fine dining establishments, high end stores like Chanel and Hermes all the time.

    1. So had it been a service dog it would’ve been acceptable? A dog is a dog either way. That’s why you should wash your fruits and veggies. And it’s great to know I can bring my trusty companion to eat with me!!!!

  5. Dogs in restaurants are fine & well behaved. It’s the people who are a pain in the ass.

    1. We watched a lady at Safeway on College Ave place her dachshund in the top part of the shopping card and head off into the store, going by a sign that says NO PETS ALLOWED and right by a clerk. No towel or blanket below the dog where to protect where we would place food. Disgusting. We ate Northwood Restaurant over the weekend and someone’s pet dog was allowed to stay in the restaurant. It was very well behaved, but it wasn’t a service dog, so it shouldn’t have been there.

    1. I don’t mind dogs around a town with their owners-but not where I eat…even if they don’t shed.

    2. Don’t have a dog…
but very nice to know that I won’t be seeing you, specifically, at any of these locales.
Candidly, you simply don’t know what “most people want…”
