Food Truck Thursday in Sebastopol

Mobile food crew heads to Sebastopol for Thursday stop

When a door closes, a window opens, right? For the Eat Fleet mobile food convoy, there will be three walk-up windows and an umbrella opening at O’Reilly Media in Sebastopol each Thursday afternoon beginning April 14, 2011.

According to Fork Catering’s Sarah Piccolo, her truck, along with Street Eatz, Dogs from Chicago and Karma Bistro have been given the green light for a Sebastopol stop from 11:30 to 2pm at 1005 Gravenstein Hwy North (O’Reilly headquarters).

Piccolo plans to donate 10% of the day’s proceeds to a local non-profit and hopes to rotate in a new truck each week –and you better believe there are plenty of new trucks in the wings.  On BiteClub’s radar: Foxy Cupcakes, Black Market BBQ from Petaluma, a sustainable mobile barbecue and mobile creperie, Ultra Crepes spotted around Sebastopol the last few weeks.

  1. As I left the wo.derful crepe shack on Thursday night, I was so busy stuffing my face that I believe I left my phone sitti.g on the window seal of the crepe truck. Any way to contacf yall?

  2. Wow, such Variety! Great service, smiling faces, nice crowd, good conversation. I think you get a free ebook from the lobby store, if you visit while you’re on campus. I want to try so many things, I will be looking forward to Thursdays this spring/summer for sure.

  3. When the trucks were in downtown SR, I did go out of my way a couple of times to patronize them, but since I work at O’Reilly 🙂 I didn’t get to go every week. And even if I had worked downtown I wouldn’t have–too many great culinary choices around!

While those dollars I spent at the trucks didn’t support the b-n-m restaurants, I did visit other businesses while I was there. I wonder how those non-food folks felt about the trucks?

But happily, I can patronize the trucks more easily now. It will be nice to have more of a choice than our daily taco truck (which I will not forsake for the others!).

And what WC Local sez–thanks for covering our fab food scene!

  4. There is a new food truck at Family Wineries/Timber Crest Farms on Dry Creek Rd.
al Fresco Kitchen. I ate their last Sunday. We had a great Turkey Panini on Focaccia with a salad and Fish n Chips for $10 each. We had a bottle of wine from Papapietro Perry Winery. Stayed and had Tiramisu fresh made with an espresso. Excellent…plus the View of Dry Creek Valley.

    1. Brent do you have any details on al Fresco Kitchen? I cannot find them and would love to get them in our rotation!

  5. Love the news! Just want to say that you have been a ray of sun in our little food world. I appreciate your blog and so do the restaurants/caterers/food purveyors in the community. Don’t let anyone tell you different.
