Sunce Winery & Vineyard is a family winery located in the heart of the Russian River Valley appellation of Sonoma County with a tasting room on Olivet Road in Santa Rosa and one on scenic Highway 12 in Kenwood. They specialize in small artisan lots of vineyard designated varietal wines and classic blends.
winemaker Frane Franicevic was born in 1953 in the small fishing village of Sucuraj on the eastern tip of the island of Hvar in the Adriatic Sea on the Dalmatian Coast. In 1970 he came to America with his father, and in 1990 he opened his first winery on Piner Road in Santa Rosa. He had his first commercial release in 1991, and his wines continue to garner awards. Frane has come a long way from his Croatian origins but is still running the winery with his wife in Sonoma County.
