Foppiano Vineyards was founded in 1896 by Giovanni Foppiano, and is one of Sonoma County’s oldest continually-operated, family-owned wineries. The family has supplied northern California with wine for over a century – even surviving Prohibition in the 1920s selling home winemaking kits. Located in Healdsburg’s Russian River Valley AVA, they specialize in Petite Sirah but also carry Carignan, Chardonnay, Petite Sirah, Pinot Noir, Port/Dessert Wine, Rosé, and Sauvignon Blanc. A $10 tasting features Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Zinfandel, and the signature Petite Sirah. Visitors may also choose a wine and cheese pairing, which features 5 estate wines and 5 kinds of cheese chosen to complement the flavors of both. $20 per person. $15 for club members. Reservations are required at least 48 hours in advance.
