Ever since he established a first-class Italian restaurant at Tra Vigne in St. Helena, Michael Chiarello has been a culinary superstar, and that continues at Bottega. This is real Italian cooking, full of flavor and fun, yet refined and irresistibly delicious. His chicken under a brick is marinated in Calabrian chile paste. His Bolognese is the same as you’d find in Bologna. The wines are nicely priced. The staff gives perfect service.
