Mac's on 4th street SR always has chopped chicken liver. In the New York / New Jersey years of my life I never heard it referred to as chicken liver paté, though -- quite different from what you'd get marketed as paté (looser). The main controversy I'm familiar with among Jewish home cooks is Does it have chopped egg in it or not -- everybody I know puts onion, but many don't include egg.
For me the dessert treat is rugelach -- I once mail-ordered some from NY to serve my book group, because baking it myself is a major chore and I couldn't find any locally.

Have you had the chix liver at Bird and Bottle? It's stellar.
I love saltines, so i actually like matzo. Just found these, though....https://www.matzoproject.com/

You'd think the only Jews in California came from LA and NYC! Guess what? Sonoma County actually has some HOME-GROWN Jews. The diaspora even includes Atlantans! Oy gevalt! And where in this glorious new Jewish deli is there any mention of chicken liver paté? Not even the promise of chocolate babka overwhelms the desire, the NEED for paté. No chickens had to be overfed to produce it. I laud the inclusion of tooth-pulling water bagels but if there's no paté I'm not trekking from Sonoma, city of, to Santa Rosa. And one more thing: calling matzoh "matzo-licious" is...well. Matzoh is cardboard masquerading as crackers. Guilt is responsible for its annual purchases with the Passover stamp on it. We all know it. We'll eat it anyway but let's not pretend it's a gourmet item. Criminy.
