Wine tasting
Seventeen Sonoma Valley wineries and tasting rooms are offering free and discounted wine tastings, and exclusive discounts on wine, during Freedom Week. Paradise Ridge (707-282-9020, 8850 Sonoma Hwy, Kenwood) will have free tastings for veterans, active/reserve military, first responders and their immediate families at their Kenwood tasting room. Their main winery in Santa Rosa was destroyed in the Tubbs Fire.

Corner 103 (707-931-6144103 W. Napa St., Sonoma) is offering complimentary Sonoma Tasting and Sonoma Cheese Experiences, during which guests taste through seven wines with six food pairings, for two (by appointment).

B.R. Cohn (707-938-4064, 15000 Sonoma Hwy, Glen Ellen), will be offering free wine tastings for up to four people. Other wineries offering special discounts and tastings include B. Wise Vineyards, Buena Vista Winery, Deerfield Ranch Winery, Eric Ross Winery, Highway 12 Winery, Kivelstadt Cellars, Kunde Family Winery, Landmark Vineyards, Meadowcroft Wines, Muscardini Cellars, St. Anne's Crossing Winery, Schug Winery, Sunce Winery, and Walt Wines.

Health and wellness
Various health providers are offering free services during Freedom Week for veterans, active/reserve military, first responders and their immediate family. Synergy Dental Group (707-938-9066, 660 3rd St. W., Sonoma), the dental office that organizes Freedom Week, is offering free professional dental cleanings by appointment.

Dine out

Other free activities
The work that first responders and military folks do is among the most dangerous and stressful in the world, making "fun" a priority when time allows. California State Parks is offering free admission with a valid ID during Freedom Week at Sonoma State Historic Park, which includes the General Vallejo Home, Mission San Francisco de Solano, and the Sonoma Barracks.

Sebastiani Theatre (476 1st St. E., Sonoma) is showing a free screening of Megan Leavey. The film is the true story of Megan Leavey and her military combat dog Red. The two completed more than 100 missions until an improvised explosive device injured both. November 12, 1:00 PM.

Veterans, active/reserve military and first responders can have acclaimed tattoo artist Shotsie Gorman, at his T.A.T. Gallery (707-938-3000, 17977 Sonoma Hwy, Sonoma), repair or cover small tattoos during Freedom Week. New clients only can get up to three small tattoos touched up or covered per day.
