Robert Mondavi Winery Announces 2017 Concert Series

The 48th Robert Mondavi Winery summer series kicks off on July 1 with singer/songwriter Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness. McMahon previously performed at Mondavi in 2015, together with Jakob Dylan's The Wallflowers; his "Cecilia and the Satellite" is a certified gold hit. On July 8, iconic soul singer Patti LaBelle will take the stage at Mondavi. Nicknamed the "Godmother of Soul," LaBelle made history when topping the charts with "Lady Marmalade" in 1974 and her trio, "Labelles," (consisting of LaBelle, Nona Hendryx and Sarah Dash) became the first African American vocal group to make the cover of Rolling Stone. The Revivalists will headline the Mondavi Summer Concert Series on July 15. The seven-piece New Orleans-based band is known for their high energy concerts fueled by a blend of jam band goodness, soul, and alternative rock. Their hit "Wish I Knew You" earned the band their first No. 1 spot on Billboard's Adult Alternative Songs chart, and their album Men Amongst Mountains debuted #2 on the Billboard Alternative Albums Chart. On July 22, Bay Area natives Michael Franti & Spearhead will take the winery stage. Franti has a cult following surrounding his band, which blends hip hop with funk, reggae, jazz, folk and rock. The final concert of the season stars Multi-GRAMMY award-winners Ben Harper & the Innocent Criminals. It's been seven years since Harper has performed with the Innocent Criminals, and there is no doubt the show will feature hits by Harper solo and with the band.
